What a day! What a long, cold and wet day. I cannot wait for a dry one, with a little sunshine. It’s been raining everyday since last Tuesday. Blah.
I started my day about 6:30 this morning (hit snooze a few times). I had some hot cereal, a Chobani Bite, a banana and some coffee.

I wanted a DP really bad when lunch time rolled around. When I got down to the bistro to get one I saw that they were serving corn fritters today. So I just had to get some! Yummmm! I did share them with Lacie though…didn’t eat the whole bowl myself (although it could have been done, trust me).

For the rest of lunch I had a veggie and rice bowl, a tiny bowl of chili and that DP. So good!

I had planned on working out right after work, then running home and get cleaned up again. I had a couple fun things on the agenda for the evening. But I decided to skip the work out and go ahead and let the pups out before I did my fun stuff. I’m glad I did too. Although, not because I had fun. When I got to my Dad’s and opened the door to let the dogs out, I instantly knew something was wrong. My Pearly was not herself at all! She’s normally a very energetic dog. I was greeted, instead, by a heavy breathing, quivering and hunched up Pearl.

After a quick look around the house to make sure she didn’t get into anything, I loaded her and Jess up in the car and headed to the vet. She wouldn’t even look at me when I was talking to her at a red light.

Luckily it turned out to not be anything too serious. She is getting older and I thought the worse was about to happen. She apparently hurt her back at some point today and was in a lot of pain. She had swelling that showed up in her x-rays. So after a pain pill and an anti-inflammatory pill (which she has to take for a couple weeks), she snuggled up on the bed and took a nap.

I went ahead and cancelled my plans just in case she got worse. Didn’t want her to need something and not be here. I ate a leftover chili cheese burrito from yesterday for dinner and watched a little TV. I decided to jump in the tub for a quick shower (mainly to warm up) and when I pulled the curtain back to get out…Pearl was standing there, no longer hunched up and wagging her little nubby tail. Made my heart happy! She already felt better! I just hope she hurt herself later in the day and hadn’t been in pain too long.
Now me and pooches are snuggled up together, warm and pain free. Fixing to start reading this book…

then hitting the sack. Hope y’all have had a great day! G’Nite!

Eeehh, thats kind of scary! Hope she gets better, and quick! At least it wasn’t something major – she was probably just trying to relive her younger years and got carried away! ;)
Probably exactly what happened.
Hope your puppy gets better soon! your pup is lucky to have you there to take care of her!
Aweee get better soon, Pearly!
Poor girl!!!
I’m glad she bounced back and I hope it doesn’t happen again!
